"Some things seem impossible because nobody has done them before." This is the unofficial motto of Oceanco, a Dutch shipyard specializing in the construction of the most technically complex custom superyachts in the range of 80-110 m made of steel and aluminum; at the same time, the production capacity allows Oceanco to build vessels up to 140 m long.
The brand was founded in 1987 by a group of investors who decided to start production of superyachts in the South African city of Durban. There the buildings were built, which were then sent to various Dutch shipyards, where the work was completed. In 2002, the control of the company passed to the Greek shipping and steel magnate Theodore Angelopoulos. He developed a new strategy, focusing on the construction of yachts with a length of 80 m. he relied on the highest achievements of the Dutch engineering skills, and began to attract the most famous yacht designers of the world to the development of projects. In 2010, Oceanco buys Omani billionaire Mohammed Barwani, which opened up new opportunities for the shipyard. Now own manufacturing facilities are located in the Oceanco Alblasserdam, close to Rotterdam in the Western part of the Netherlands.
