Extra Yachts Premiere at the Yachting Festival de Cannes: Extra 86

26 june 2019

Extra Yachts, a new brand owned by the Palumbo Group and based in Ancona under the aegis of ISA Yachts, is consistenly developing its model range. The first model, the Extra 76, was launched in September at the Cannes Boat Show 2018, and already in the end of June 2019 the shipyard launched the enlargered Extra 86. The world premiere of the brand new yacht will also take place at the Cannes Yachting Festival (10 - 15 September 2019).

The yacht will be brought to Cannes in its Fast version: the installation of Volvo IPS propulsion system with 3 Volvo Penta 735kw engines will allow this 26-meter yacht to accelerate up to 30 knots.

Extra Yachts owes its unusual appearance to designer Francesco Guida, who has developed the entire range of yards up to 130-foot flagship. The famous naval architect has not only created an unusual superstructure, but has also reformulated the principles of space planning on board. Due to that new approach the model Extra 86 has a segregated post between the main deck and the flybridge level, and the crew compartment with its own access (2 cabins for 3 people) is uncommonly located in the forward part of the hull, not in the stern.

Extra 86 is capable of accommodating 8 passengers with 3 guest cabins (each with its own bathroom) and a full beam master stateroom.
The salon of the main deck is very bright, with a lounge area in the bow and a galley in the stern for easy access to the open dining area of the aft cockpit. On the flybridge there is the second control station, a huge sunbed, a lounge bar and a C-shaped sofa, to create a comfort space for relaxation in the sun staying on anchor or while on the way.

Along with the Fast version, Extra yachts will also present at the Cannes Yachting Festival a standard Exhtga 86 and another new model,  Extra 93, announced to be launched in August. The Monaco Yacht Show (September 25-28, 2019) in its turn will feature Extra Yachts' flagship Extra 130 Alloys with a composite aluminium hull and not fiberglass like in the younger models.
